Article intro

The last edition was about the systems that keep us honest. Three months have passed since, longer than we meant to leave between editions, and the reason is today's subject. Until the summer, almost everything we showed in public was text: blog articles, well linked to each other, read by whoever found them on Google. Over the last three months we started taking the work to where people already look: projects documented end to end, video, and social media run on a plan.

01.Three new case studies

The portfolio has three new projects, all internal. Eleleth is an editorial system, Oroiael an astrology platform, and Transcript Desk a video research tool. We built them for ourselves, so we can show them in full, from the problem we started with to the decisions we changed along the way. A client project only appears here with the client's written permission, and some never will. An internal project has no such limit.

One thing surprised us. In September, two of them started circulating on Facebook, shared by people we don't know, without any promotion from us. So far, case studies are the only kind of content that has found its readers on its own. We took the lesson, and you'll see it applied below.

02.We have a YouTube channel

GOODGLYPH now has a YouTube channel. The first three long videos answer questions we hear often: what a website really costs, whether you need an app or just a better process, and what a design project looks like from the inside. Next to them sit short clips, one idea each: the paper test before you commission an app, why the same website change can take an hour or several days, why the big reveal at the end is the worst moment for feedback, and three questions to ask when choosing an agency. More long videos are recorded and going up one at a time.

03.Social media, on a plan

Until September, our social accounts looked like a forgotten shop window. We started with an honest audit, channel by channel: what each one holds, what it has brought in, and what was left over from the studio's older positioning. The conclusion was uncomfortable and useful. We posted rarely and without rhythm, and the few people who reached the site from there came for the projects.

The audit turned into a plan where each platform has a different job. On Instagram and Facebook we show the work, in Romanian. On LinkedIn, Pinterest and YouTube we explain it, in English. Each channel has a weekly rhythm and a calendar through the end of the year.

The biggest change was on Pinterest. The old account still talked about our projects from two years ago. We reorganized it around new topics, from branding for small businesses to SEO and apps, and made a few images for every published article that sum up its idea: a question, a list, a number. Over a hundred pins are now scheduled, each sending people back to an article on the blog. Pinterest works more like a search engine than a social network, so a good pin keeps bringing visitors for months after you post it.

And a small brand lesson, learned the hard way. On the first images, the logo in the corner was a rebuild set in a font, standing in for the real vector file. We caught it after the first posts went out and replaced it everywhere. We see this mistake often with clients, so we're glad we caught it in our own work too.

04.The blog: fifteen new articles and a new face

Since the last edition we published fifteen articles. Some continue the series on apps: what an MVP is, client portal or CRM, how long an app takes to build. Others are about websites: what an AI-made site can do, whether to build it yourself, with a freelancer or with an agency, what brings a restaurant bookings, why a site doesn't sell. We also wrote about brand positioning, what goes on the homepage, and what a business with no news should post.

Then we gave all 39 published articles new covers. The old ones looked too much alike. Each new one starts from the article's idea, in the studio's colors, with a single image that says something about the text beneath it. This journal keeps its own covers. The next series of articles is already written.

05.What we don't know yet

We don't know yet how much of this brings in clients. The first weeks of measurement show that visits from social media come mostly from shares we didn't prompt, and less from the links we post. For us, that means more case studies and fewer announcements.

06.What's next

The rest of the videos on YouTube, video pins on Pinterest, and more case studies, including client ones where we have permission. Edition #6 will come sooner than this one did. Until then, you'll find us on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
